A Landscape Garden
This project started in 2012 with a massive amount of clearing in a completely overgrown landscape with a wonderful house in need of considerable renovation. The garden was so congested that it was as the saying goes ‘hard to see the wood for the trees’. Trying to decide which to keep and which to lose involved climbing to the top the house and imagining what it might look like with or without. Many of the trees were in very poor condition and removing trees from groups can cause wholesale collapse.
Next was planting new trees and then years of carrying water to keep everything alive, not an easy task but manfully done (mainly by the woman!)
Then another phase of assessment and decision made to cut some large hedgerows to allow amazing views across unspoilt country in two directions.
It is shaping up to be amazing, there are lake works still to be done and…the house!
